Appearance
With her long sunny-gold hair, aquamarine eyes, and full lips, Vlyanelle is often regarded as a classic beauty. Long limbed and slender, she has a willowy grace. Her usual pensive expression tends to make her look mystified and for that many have mistakenly judged her as insipid.
Personality
Vlyanelle exudes a certain serenity to her, but her personality often comes across as vague and unfocussed. She has an intuitive understanding of the human spirit, both from her training as a paladin and her knowledge of spiritualism. She is quite philosophical and pensive, at times struggling with her own self-worth.
History
Vlyanelle was born near Lighthope to a mismatched couple. Her father, Randall Midross, was a Trinsician Paladin of Summ while her mother, Zola, was a mystic from Spiritwood. In the times before Lord British united Britannia, Randall was wounded in the western jungles during the wars with Jhelom. He was found by Zola and nursed back to health. A romance ensued and Vlyanelle was unexpectedly conceived. To satisfy his honor, Randall wed Zola, but to Randall, his new wife and daughter were signs of his weakness and shame. In his own mind, every flaw he perceived in them added to his shame. Thus it was an austere household and Randall was a cold and distant patriarch. When he did engage the others in conversation, it was often to criticize them in his efforts to make them the perfect image of Trinsic respectability.
In contrast, Zola was very loving and accepting. She showered Vlyanelle with affection and taught her everything she knew of alchemy and healing. She also taught her daughter the rudiments of magic and spiritualism, but they kept this secret from Randall, for he viewed this knowledge as witchcraft. If Zola had found a loving and secure husband, they might've had an amazing family life. Alas, she did not and Zola's great fault lay in her desire to please and so she would wilt under Randall's criticism. To some degree, Vlyanelle suffered that same fault. She sought to win the approval of her demanding and discontent father. To that end, she sought to follow in his footsteps and become a paladin.
Vlyanelle travelled to Lighthope and enlisted with Lord Geogratt Wishstorm, a Fellowlord of the Twilight Fellowship. She received the general Fellowship training in weapons and tactics, but she was personally taught chivalry by Lord Wishstorm. She initially thought she would become a Paladin of Honor like her father, but with her spiritualistic background, it was Om, god of Spirituality, which she established a connection with.
