Twilight Fellowship
From UO Community
The Twilight Fellowshipis a Pacific Shard Roleplaying Guild. It is a virtuous guild though individual characters may have their own character flaws, dark histories, or struggle with temptation and morality.
Founded in 1998, the Twilight Fellowship was established by Sable. The guild initially included a band of close friends that Sable had convinced to play Ultima Online. With the passing of time and the growth in their familiarity with the game, their gameplay began to grow more sophisticated as they ran guild roleplaying events. In 2002, the guild suffered something of a crisis as several members departed the game while others found their playing time reduced. At this point, Sable began looking outward to the larger Ultima community, meeting several new friends through the game itself. In March of 2002, he joined the Yahoo Message Board, Ultime Online Pacific Shard run by Velandra. Each week, Velandra would organize gatherings and events and new members of the guild were recruited from those who participated. Members of this message board also made use of the in-game chat feature, often gathering in the Newbie Help room. In September of 2003, Sable joined the The PRC. Despite being a roleplaying guild, this was the first time the Twilight Fellowship connected with the Pacific Roleplaying Community at large.
Every member of the guild had previously taken part in Dungeons and Dragons campaigns set in the Ultima setting, with Sable serving as the Dungeon Master. From these games, works of fiction were written and woven into the larger Ultima storyline. The oldest of these pen-and-paper RPGs dates back to 1988, long before Ultima Online came into existence. Ultima Online really altered the focus on their writing however, and it led to the project they call the Twilight Fellowship Ultima Project. The ultimate goal of this project is to write about the Ultima setting which they now refer to as the Twilight Fellowship Ultima Project.
Initially, the guild's primary focus was enjoying the novelty and gameplay of Ultime Online, but they also used their adventures in-game to add to their fiction they had created.
