Story:

"The Wild Western Provinces, that is what they call them," Bianca Atooka declared as she surveyed the carnage.

"Wild they are, but you and those beasts of yours don't seem much troubled," the wandering healer observed. His name was Perry and he was a man old with experience. "Your lizards blasted these reapers into kindling!"

Bianca nodded non-chalantly. "Sliths are creatures of fire who feast on metal. These evil trees had no chance against them."

"Fire you say?" Perry scratched his beard, looking at them more closely. "They do seem to be adorned by fire," he noted, pointing to the flame colored scales on their back. "I am glad they mind you and that you have the best interests of Sagewind in your heart. May the virtues bless you child."

Bianca smiled warmly. "Thank you."

"We are in sore need of more folk of your skill in these parts to help tame these wilds," Perry continued. "The reapers and corpsers grow more troublesome and there are more and more raids by ogres, trolls, and harpies. Then there are unvirtuous men who seek to prey upon the frontiers."

"Take heart, good healer," Bianca said. "I will do what I can whilst I visit these parts, but I journeyed here with another. Her name is Nieanna and she is a Ranger of Skara Brae. In fact, she is a former Captain of the Rangers."

"A Ranger of Skara Brae?" Perry exclaimed. "Here? Why so far from home?"

"It is my understanding the Rangers wander far and wide, as their name suggests," Bianca offered. "Of late, the Rangers have had much trade with Sagewind. It has been a mutually beneficial arrangement for both parties and so you often see Rangers in these parts these days. Nienna, however, has obtained land here. I think you will see a larger ranger presence in the Western Provinces."

Perry smiled his aged smile, nodding. "That is good. That is good."
