Appearance
Beauty-wise, Moriara comes from good stock. Her mother, Vienda Everborn, was one of the loveliest barmaids in Shadyfield while her father, Amdiss Anthelos, was a handsome rakehell. From her mother she inherited her silky-fine blonde hair and graceful figure. From her father, she inherited her blue eyes, eyes so intense they seem to see right through a person. Her beauty helps to soften any discomfort, however, and most men call her intruiging.
Personality
Those who meet Moriara for the first time would often describe her as being cold and distant. The fact of the matter is Moriara always hid her emotions behind a mask. Outwardly, she portrays a calm, cool, and collected demeanor. The mask hides a lifetime of hurt derived from her poor relationship with her mother. Still, Moriara keeps a tight reign on her emotions, scorning the outbursts her mother would unleash on her. Her ire is measured, a slight raising of the voice, extra pronunciation on her words, a cold long stare. It is a quiet anger, but one which is intense and unmistakable. Those who knew it in her father quailed. Moriara is also a fiercely loyal person to her friends. She's very appreciative of support and kindness others show her, having been starved of it from her mother. She is not a fool, however, and knows when someone is trying to manipulate her to get something they want.
History
Moriara was born on the Vesperian frontier, the accidental child of a dalliance between a barmaid and a wandering sellsword. As such, she often endured plenty of bitterness from her mother, whose good reputation was ruined when she became large with a bastard child in her belly. As she grew, her mother would constantly criticize her. Half the time, her mother was just bitter with Moriara. The other half of the time, her mother sought to reinforce chastity in her daughter so she would not make the same mistakes she had. Moriara developed a tough facade to mask the hurt she felt, an impassive mask to act as a shield against her mother's ranting.
Her father was a rare presence in her life, only visiting when his business brought him to the Vesperlands. Still, he showed a great deal more warmth and affection towards Moriara than her mother did, something she was always desperately thankful for. He would regale her with stories of his travels, the battles he had fought in, and the adventures he had experienced. Moriara fell in love with the excitement of Amdiss's stories and it was not long before she asked him to teach her how to use a weapon. Amdiss obliged, finding he couldn't refuse his daughter anything. Thus Moriara began learning the way of the warrior, using her father's lessons and honing them in her sparring bouts with her friends.
Moriara became fast friends with Lindira Hazywind, who also suffered from an absent father. Lindira's mother was missing as well and she had been left in the care of Carlotta Beldain, the owner of the Hazywood Inn. Intelligent, outgoing, and charismatic, Lindira was a magnet for friends. She introduced Moriara to many of her friends who would become her adventuring companions. Together, they would one day help found and guide the Twilight Fellowship.

Moriara is a warrior, first and foremost. She has also become quite adept with the healing arts.
