In present day Ultimas, the Ankh has come to symbolize the virtues. The Ankh, however, is the hieroglyph representing life in the ancient Evain culture. It was once their most important symbol, for the Evain revered life and lived according to the virtues espoused by their gods. It was believed that if they lived a virtuous life, then upon their death they would take their rightful place in paradise, the land of the gods. They regarded death as just a doorway to another life, one which would benefit from a previous life which was well lived. This belief was twisted by the power hungry Aritoth El'Bashir, last pharoh-magi of the Evain and so for many ages, the Ankh was forgotten. It's use has recently resurfaced and along with it has come a great spirituality and understanding of the virtues.
